A major fire damaged this 62-story, 1,200,000 square foot office tower. The difficulty of the restoration was compounded by the many code and regulation changes since completion of the original building.

An extensive testing program determined that 5 floors of concrete and steel decks needed replacement to ensure the structural integrity of the building. To speed construction, we issued 18 separate construction packages including damage survey and demolition, replacement of damaged floor slabs and 8 floors of damaged curtain wall, enclosing elevator lobbies, upgrading the fire/life safety system and sprinklers, and compliance with ADA. The first tenants moved back into the building in 4 months, a date that was considered impossible to meet.
